Everyday Makeup & Skincare Routine for Summer

The other day, one of my best friends asked me to take a video of me doing my every day makeup routine. For the sake of everyone here, definitely not going to film a video of myself doing my makeup. But thought I’d compile a list and write out my routine for the people that ask! In the summer, I try to spend as little time doing my makeup most days. When I have a little bit of a tan, I try to take full advantage and avoid having to do a full face of makeup as much as possible.

I always always start with washing my face. I have never been a big believer in spending an outrageous amount of money on skin care, so I stick to the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Line. It’s not crazy expensive, and does such a great job of keeping my face hydrated – I have very dry skin, and it does not leave my face feeling greasy.

Typically, I use the Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel every day morning and night, then every couple of days I’ll use the Hydro Boost Gentle Exfoliating Facial Cleanser to exfoliate at night before I go to bed and use my different serums and such. Whenever I wash my face I always use my Foreo Luna Play . Truly think this is the reason I haven’t had insane breakouts since I got it. I love how clean my face feels after I use it. I just wash my face with this instead of using my hands, and I can feel my face wash working better because of it.

After I wash my face, what I do next depends if its morning or night. In the morning, I jump right to using my moisturizer, the Hydro Boost Hydrating Water Gel then follow with the Hydro Boost Multivitamin Booster Face Serum, then use two drops of the Daily Aloe Face Glow Drops from Hello Body. If it’s at night, I use the Lemon Exfoliating Facial Pads to get whatever I missed when washing my face, and skip the glow drops.

After my skincare, I dive into my makeup routine which usually takes me a max of fifteen minutes. I start with hitting my under eyes with the Tula Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm then use Tarte Shape Tape Concealer under my eyes with a damp beauty blender, and then any spots I want to cover up. I use shade light sand or light neutral year round.

When it comes to foundation I go back and forth between two different products. I always try to get a foundation, moisturizer, or a primer with SPF just because its so important for your skin, especially in the summer! I either use the Covergirl Smoothers BB Cream in shade light to medium, I just use my hands to apply for a quick fix. For more full coverage I use a the IT Cosmetics CC Cream in shade medium with a damp brush. Anytime I have to get my beauty blender or brush damp, I use the Mario Badescue Facial Spray in any of the scents they have. I’ll go back after after applying my foundation and touch up with concealer again, just to brighten under my eyes especially. I’ll finish up my face makeup by using the Airspun Loose Face Powder to set my under eyes with a beauty blender so my concealer doesn’t crease, then I’ll use it on my forehead, chin, and nose to prevent them from getting oily.

After my foundation is done, I’ll use any mix of shadows from the Too Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. I recently got this for my birthday and it’s my new favorite. It gives the perfect amount of color while still going for the no makeup look. Typically, I use the first four matte shades in the palette the most, then add the darker ones for a night look. Then use my finger to apply the shimmery shades to the corner of my eye just to brighten it. Then, I move onto my brows and use the ELF Instant Brow Pencil just to outline my brows and lift them with the brush. Overall, this takes me less than five minutes.

I finish off my face makeup by using Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer around my hair line and right under my cheek bone for a slight contour in shade bronzer, then use the Becca Highlighter in Champagne Pop on my cheeks, on my brow bone, and down my nose all the way to my chin.

The last touches on my makeup are using Essence Volume Booster Lash Primer before my mascara, the difference when I use this versus when I don’t is so apparent. Its been my favorite drug store makeup find. Then I’ll use whatever mascara I have on hand, but its typically the MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Mascara .

From start to finish, my every day makeup routine takes me a max of fifteen minutes. It’s the perfect look for summer, and gives you the most natural glow. Hope you guys enjoy, and let me know if you try out any of these products!!
